Colossus VS Maleficent

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense, but I had to practice drawing reflective surfaces, so I picked a hero in shiny armour to fight a dragon (that's also shiny metallic).

SHADOWRUN :: Smoking Elf Mage

Custom designed Shadowrun character. Ink on Bristol, 11x17"

STAR WARS :: Cantina

Pencils for the original script of the Mos Eisley Cantina scene.

Soul Reaver 2 (inside page, inks)

Wow, been keeping really busy and this one's from last week. Going to be coloured, in the and I'm planning to put together a post about my process, from pencils to the finished piece.

If you don't know it, this is about the intro of my favourite video game, Soul Reaver 2, watch it here and prepare for epic epicness.

The HOURS

Vector illustration for the cover of Michael Cunningham's novel "The Hours".

LITTLE SILVER STAR (Colour)

I decided to colour my illustrations in Photoshop as part of this stylistic experimenting I'm in, and I have to say I'm pretty proud of them.
This is a not-so-feministic tale about an Indian (native American) girl, who tries to be the champion of her tribe, only to meet contempt from the men and eventually death at the fangs of a tiger she tries to save during her trials... So there was nothing really upbeat about this and I tried my best to make it look like something remotely fun. I wanted to arrange the spot illustrations around the text but i didn't have it in a digital form. It was intended to go to the blanks as visible in some of the images.

Soul Reaver cover (inks)

This is going to be followed by an interior page, both will be inked and coloured.

This is Raziel, protagonist of the video game series Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.

Little Silver Star (Digital Inks)

So these are my first attempts to digitally draw illustrations in Photoshop, not perfect yet but I see something in the distance.

These are for a fake-Indian tale about a girl who tries to be the champion of her tribe.

Perspective of Persia

This one was a 2-point perspective assignment with at least 4 figures on different planes and a staircase.
I took a piece of Prince of Persia concept art as reference.

Sigourney Weaver / AGING POSTR

A poster about actress Sigourney Weaver at 8 ages.
I guess she'll never see this but this is my love letter to her, for all the times she raised that flamethrower.

Inking, part II.

Different textures with different tools.

I painted the rex with a brush, used pen nibs on the cow, markers on the mountains and brush & nib on the tree.

Tyrannosaurus Rex (Inks)

Practicing inking.
I used Tibor Kéri's amazing sculpture for reference, see here in 3D!
Yes, he takes commissions. :) (I do, too.)

Snow White bites the Poisoned Apple

This is a shirt design I made, and I'm proud to be an iHater (ironically, I'm having to work on one, which doesn't help).

Animal men

So we had to design 3 characters that were humanoid but had animal characteristics.

This is it, with three close-ups and a big panel about them interacting.

Spidey vs. Mr. Hyde pt.2

Had to trush these, didn't have time for better backgrounds, but I did what I could with the figures.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 3D

Put on the red & cyan glasses, everyone!

Thanks, Rod Ollerenshaw! This one's for you.

Minotaurus

Inkwash, 10x15" on illustration board.

#300

I am happy to announce that over 4 years this blog reached its 300th post.
Let's celebrate it with the best Spider-Man I've ever drawn
(and Mr. Hyde, who was a mandatory addition in the script).

INVISIBLE MONSTERS Movie Poster

A poster for the imaginary film adaptation of one of my favourite novels 'Invisible Monsters' by Chuck Palahniuk, in the style of the '50s trash movie posters.

Alien3

Dog Alien on Scratchbord. 6"x8"
My love for it is only matched by its hostility.
